Special Topics: Sgraffito Surface Design 8 WEEKS In this class you will learn about traditional sgraffito techniques. This will involve carving, scratching, and drawing techniques used directly on clay, including slabs and pots. You will learn different ways to design and incorporate these techniques into your pots, using underglaze and slips.. Ages 18+. This class is for individuals with basic understanding of clay and the building process as this class is focused on surface techniques not building techniques. Date: Wednesday, March 8th–April 26th (8 Weeks) Time: 5:45 - 7:30 Cost: $210.00–8 weeks Instructor: Maddie Althoff
Included in 4-8 week Clay Classes: Please read over our Current Student handbook and Guidelines by clicking here. The fee for one session provides for the following (unless otherwise specified): -Class instruction, open studio access, access to glazes and shelf space. -Open Studio access, students and Open Studio Members are required to adhere to ICCGS Open Studio Policies -Clay Students are responsible for purchasing clay and personal tools (if desired) -Students are responsible for all firing costs. You can view firing costs via our supply store LINK. Firing costs range by size (a 5-inch cup is approximately $5.00 to fire).
